The owner wanted a contemporary space with an outside fire, hot tub, lighting, exotic style planting and an outdoor run for tortoises.
The house built on a slope had an old raised deck area and lawn. It was fairly over looked so the paved courtyard was dug back into the hill with retaining walls making the area much more private.
The remaining lawn accessed by steps, has another space for seats around a fire-pit. A large mural was designed and painted onto the rendered wall above the hot tub.

“This was a great space to imagine, visualise and bring into being. Designing the mural was a bonus for me personally, great to paint on such a large scale.”
“The ‘tortoiserie’ was a challenge and involved researching what they could or could not eat and how high they could climb!”
